Square Types uses eight fair binary symbols to form words. The core objective is to collect distinct contiguous values equal to two copies of a nonempty word. The score is calculated by summing the lengths of these distinct values once per value. One whole captured stake covers this complete independent fair binary word.
Scoring and Modes
The raw score is determined by the structure of the eight binary symbols. The game offers three separately normalized score powers, each with a distinct mean and payout curve.
| Mode | Power | Exact Mean | Formula |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mode 1 | 1 | 9.328125 | Gross = 0.96 × Stake × raw / 9.328125 |
| Mode 2 | 2 | 102.21875 | Gross = 0.96 × Stake × raw² / 102.21875 |
| Mode 3 | 3 | 1279.3125 | Gross = 0.96 × Stake × raw³ / 1279.3125 |
The expected gross return is 96% for all modes. This is not a guaranteed net profit for any session. All 256 possible words have raw scores from 4 to 20. The power changes the return for a given score, not the word drawn.
Controls and Automation
The demo provides specific controls for managing draw sequences. Understanding these is key to managing your virtual balance.
- Auto10: Queues at most ten captured draws. The system will automatically continue drawing until the queue is exhausted or stopped.
- Stop: Cancels future draws in the queue. It does not interrupt the current draw, which will settle normally.
- Sound: Remains available and active even when controls are locked during settlement.
Controls for Stake, Mode, and Refill are locked while an active draw is settling and throughout any auto queue. These controls become available again after the active draw and queue finish.
Wallet and Balance Persistence
The demo uses a local virtual wallet. The settled balance and fractional remainder are stored in the browser's localStorage.
- Initial Balance: 1000 virtual coins.
- Manual Restoration: If the balance is idle and below 10, you can manually restore it. This action sets the balance to exactly 1000. It preserves fractional carry when the balance is restored.
- Fractional Carry: Persists across settlement, refill, and reload.
- Unfinished Reload: If you reload the page while a draw is in progress, the round ends without a refund or resume. You do not get your stake back.
- Settled Balance: Persists locally, including zero balances.
Mathematical Evidence
The following table shows the exact expected gross RTP and measured RTP from simulation data (1,000,000 rounds per mode).
| Mode | Exact Gross RTP | Measured RTP |
|---|---|---|
| Power 1 | 96% | 96.05% |
| Power 2 | 96% | 95.92% |
| Power 3 | 96% | 96.06% |
Measured values are supporting sample observations. The exact expected gross return is 96% across all modes.
Storage and Privacy
This demo operates independently. No account login or payment flow is required.
- Storage: The demo uses browser localStorage for settled demo balance and fractional carry. Clearing cached files may leave local storage if not explicitly cleared.
- Third Parties: The template declares a Google Fonts stylesheet. These code observations do not establish the absence of other requests or processing.
- Anonymity: The absence of account controls does not prove that no personal data are processed. Do not assume anonymity.
Responsible Use and Audience
This guide targets an 18+ audience. This is a policy for this guide, not a claim about local law or an implemented age gate.
- No Clinical Training: The demo does not clinically train behaviour or make losses safe.
- No Guarantees: Expected RTP is not a promised session result. Changing the power changes the return for the same raw score; it does not change the symbols drawn or guarantee a profit.
- Help: For responsible use, consider optional pauses, setting a personal time/virtual-coin limit, and finding appropriate local qualified help.
Frequently asked questions
How is the score calculated in Square Types?
The raw score sums the lengths of distinct contiguous binary strings made of two consecutive copies of the same nonempty string. Each distinct value is counted once. Gross return equals 0.96 × stake × raw score to power 1, 2, or 3, divided by that power’s mean.
What is the difference between Mode 1, 2, and 3?
The modes differ in their score power and normalization mean. Mode 1 uses power 1 (mean 9.328125), Mode 2 uses power 2 (mean 102.21875), and Mode 3 uses power 3 (mean 1279.3125). All modes maintain a 96% expected gross RTP.
Does the Stop button end the current round immediately?
No. Stop cancels future draws in the queue. The current draw will continue to settle normally. Controls remain locked until that settlement completes.
What happens if I reload the page during a draw?
Reload ends an unfinished draw without refund or resume. You do not get your stake back for that specific round.
How do I restore my balance?
You can manually restore the balance when it is idle and below 10. This sets the balance to exactly 1000 and preserves fractional carry.
Is my balance saved if I close the browser?
Settled balances persist locally in localStorage. However, unfinished draws do not persist and are lost on reload.
Does a higher power mode guarantee better returns?
No. Every possible word has a raw score from 4 to 20. Higher powers change how much a given score returns, while all three modes retain the same 96% expected gross return.
Are there any third-party trackers in this demo?
The template declares a Google Fonts stylesheet. The code alone does not establish all requests or processing. This does not confirm other processing is absent.
Is this demo connected to a real-money casino?
No. This is an independent guide's demo. It has no account login, no payment flow, and the virtual coins have no cash value.
Can I play multiple rounds at once?
You can use Auto10 to queue up to ten draws. These are processed sequentially. One stake covers the entire word in each draw.
What is the maximum number of draws in Auto10?
Auto10 queues at most ten captured draws. It stops after ten or when you press Stop.
Does the demo track my personal data?
The demo stores balance and fractional carry in localStorage. The absence of account controls does not prove no personal data are processed. Clearing cache may leave local storage.
